Someday I'll write a blog about all of the things I find hilarious but can't share because my kids will kill me.
I'll write about the past girlfriends of my eldest son (oh, that'll be a book, but I'll wait until he marries a lovely girl and I can breathe again), things my teens say that make me bite my tongue (it bleeds regularly) and logic that defies gravity and every bit of common sense in my being.

My daughter reported that a PE class at her school walked to the bakery. Let me repeat that: The PHYSICAL EDUCATION class WALKED to the BAKERY.

The intention was innocent enough: My husband and I attended an art show at a posh salon to support good friends and their noble cause. I bought a raffle ticket for a whole $10 as part of said support.
Since my entire life's collection of surprise winnings includes a goldfish at a grade school carnival and a bad painting at a political dinner in 1984, it is very safe to say that I'm just not a raffle-winnin' girl. I had no dreams of garnering either the enticing product basket or the complete salon makeover.

It's almost Halloween. The grocery store shelves are loaded with everything guaranteed to make you and your little goblins fat and happy. But to mothers of children with severe food allergies, this is, indeed, the scariest time of the year.

We're spoiled. Here in the U.S., we can obtain just about any fruit or vegetable in the world, whether it's in or out of season. And if you want something really exotic, like ching chang, boniato or Kiwano melons--and you're willing to pay for it--you can find it in an international outlet swarming with foodies in a city not too far away. And it's probably fresh.
Or so I thought.
