Secrets of Six-Figure Women by Barbara Stanny
By Jennifer Redmond
Books
Reading about finances is at the very end of my things-to-do-before-you-die list. So the fact that I love this book and wish that I had thought of writing it myself really says something. The premise here is quite simple: After Stanny talked with more than 150 top-salaried women (and some “underearners” for balance), she was able to identify common characteristics they possess and the strategies necessary to follow in their footsteps.
Revelation: it’s not about education or working ‘til you drop. And for those of you who say, as I did, “my life is not about the money,” Secrets of Six-Figure Women is so much more than that. This easy-to-read book is about intentions, motivation, financial independence and yes, even the role of faith and what Stanny deems “spiritual support” in achieving strength and perspective. This is a great book for all women. Available online and through major booksellers. List price: $13.95, paperback and $23.95, hardcover.
