Desperately seeking good news

This just in: The world's oceans are being depleted of oxygen! And this happy news comes after reports of murder, bank robberies, natural disasters and tragedy of epic proportions. Oh, and fires. Many fires. Some caused by arson, too. Bad guys are all around, you know.
That's it. I've had it. While the gravity of these situations should not be minimized (though I have to look into that oxygen thing), c'mon! Surely there is some good news out there to keep us from losing all hope! (And no, I don't buy the empty political rhetoric related to this allusive expectation.)
Here's a fact that is often overlooked: There is more good in this world than bad. Do I have statistics to prove it? No. Do you? But I bet if you looked at your community, you'll find that you're surrounded by decent, amazing, and yes, even holy people. Now this is news!
