Blue Apple Books states that its mission is “to produce picture books that resonate for both the child and the adult reader.” Actually, my mother gave me this little picture book and I will pass it on to my own daughter, so Little Lessons from Mom does, indeed, speak to just about everyone.
Emily Bolam’s simple, colorful illustrations bring to life simple truths, like if you want a kitten, you should begin by asking for a pony, and that the bus is never late the same day you are. Good things to know, even for us grown-ups.
